The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) International Skilled Workers (ISW) conducted a draw on December 1, 2020. You need a minimum score of 60 points out of 110 to apply under a SINP ISW sub-category. As of November 24th, the SINP started to issue up to an additional 10 points for candidates who are bilingual in both French and English.
December 2nd Draw Results
For the December 2nd draw, EOI was issued to those with scores of 74 on Saskatchewan’s selection grid. A total of 564 applicants were chosen, with 138 from the Express Entry (EE) Pool and 426 from the Occupations in Demand (OID) pool. Both the EE and OID are based on high-skilled occupations, that are not on the list of ineligible occupations.
The last SINP draw was on November 19, 2020, where the OID score was 80 and the EE scores were 78. This means there was a 4-6 point drop in scores for this draw.
Expression of Interest
Saskatchewan’s EE and OID pathways work requires an Expression of Interest (EOI) to be submitted online. An EOI is not an application; it is a pre-application to determine eligibility. Once you successfully submit an EOI, you will be entered into the EOI pool of eligible candidates. Not all candidates who submit an ISW EOI will receive an Invited to Apply (ITA) to the SINP.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the ISW EE sub-category, you must be accepted into IRCC’s Express Entry pool, with a valid EE profile number and Job Seeker Code. You must score a minimum of 60 points, take a valid language test, post-secondary education, related work experience, proof of settlement funds and pay a non-refundable $350 application fee online by Visa or Mastercard. This is the last step required in order to submit your application.
Assessment Rating
You’ll need to score at least 60 out of 110 points on the Point Assessment Grid to be considered for nomination by the SINP.
Points are awarded based on the following five factors:
- Education and training;
- Skilled work experience;
- Language ability;
- Age; and,
- Connection(s) and adaptability to the Saskatchewan labour market.
The SINP points grid score is out of a maximum 110 points. The SINP does not require a job offer; however, those with a connection to the province will receive the highest points. The points scores associated with an EOI profile will determine the likelihood of receiving an ITA. Those with high scores within the pool of candidates will have a greater chance of being invited to apply. Once you are invited to apply, you will be required to provide proof to support the EOI points that you claimed. To remain eligible for a nomination you must meet the minimum points of the EOI Selection through which you received your ITA.
Connections may include an employment offer or family in Saskatchewan which provides the best chance of receiving an EOI.
