The USCIS has issued new rules governing H-1B visas effective as of September 11, 2018. The new policy allows for adjudicators to outright deny H-1B applications without initial requests for evidence. Denials will be based on failure to provide all the necessary information. This may pose a significant threat to those who have pending extensions and their H-1B visa expires, which may lead to removal proceedings.
