Express Entry Draw # 168

On November 25th, Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held draw #168 and the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score dropped to 469! This is the first time in 2020 that the CRS dropped to an all-time low. A total of 5000 Invitations were issued.

The recent drop is excellent news because it shows Canada’s commitment to issue 100,000 invitations by the end of 2020. There are currently 12,007 candidates in the pool with scores between 461-470 and 11,088 with scores between 451-460.

What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is Canada’s online application management system for the three economic class programs (Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trade, and Canadian Experience Class) and certain provincial programs. Points are assigned based on the candidate’s CRS points, which include factors such as age, education, work experience, language ability in English or French, spousal qualifications, and sibling in Canada. Those with the highest scores are issued Invitations to Apply (ITA). Scores have been dropping. On the October 14th draw the score dropped to 471 and remained steady between 471-472.  However, on November 5th, draw #166 saw an increase in the CRS to 478, which was the highest in 2020.
