On April 23, 2020, the Manitoba PNP (MPNP) conducted its 88th Expression of Interest (EOI) draw, issuing 132 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA’s) for Canadian Permanent Residency (CanadaPR). The last draw was conducted on April 9, 2020. Manitoba is committed to accepting new application despite the impact of COVID-19 on the Province.

There were 132 LAA’s, of which 93 were issued to Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM). Only 14 invitations went applicants in the International Education Stream (IES), and 25 invitations were issued to Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO), who were invited through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

Under the MPNP, candidates must submit an an Expression of Interest (EOI) online. The profile is then ranked against applicants based on Language Proficiency, Age, Work Experience, Education, Adaptability, minus Risk Assessment. Although a job offer is not required, the MPNP does require a “connection” to the Province, which may include relatives, close friends, or through an Invitation to Apply (ITA) received directly from the MPNP under one of their Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.
