On April 30, 2020, the Government of Canada will implement a 50% increase in its fees for most Permanent Residence Applications. These increases will occur every two years to account for inflation and the Consumer price index. The first set of fee changes will occur from 2020-2021 and then 2022-2023.

The fees for applicants under the Economic Class (Self Employed, Start Up Visa, Quebec Investor, Quebec Entrepreneur and Quebec Self-Employed) will be increased to $1,575, from $1,050.

The filing for Principal Applicants under the non-business class will see an increase from $550 to $825 and dependent children fees will increase from $150 to $225. Principal Applicants in the Caregiver program are exempt from the fee increase.

The right of Permanent Residence fee is set to go up to $500, from $490.

Applicants who have filed their application prior to April 30, 2020, will continue to be processed under the current fees.
