January 15, 2020 was the first draw of the year for OINP candidates qualified under Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream under the Tech Draw. Candidates identified in the pool were issued Notifications of Interest (NOIs). Receiving an NOI does not guarantee approval; candidates are still responsible to submit an online application to the OINP within 45 days. Once reviewed, a decision will be made whether to approve or deny your application

With a continued shortage of professionals in the Tech sector, specific targeted draws similar to this are used by Province’s to address their labour shortage and recruit top talent throughout the world.

A Provincial Nomination provides an additional 600 points which can be added to your overall CRS Score.

The current Tech Draw focused on work experience in the following six occupations:

  • Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173)
  • Computer engineers (NOC 2147)
  • Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213)
  • Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
  • Web designers and developers (NOC 2175)
  • Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172)

Along with the targeted occupation requirements, candidates had Express Entry CRS scores between 460 – 472.

This draw comes only six days after the OINP’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream.
