IRCC has announced that it will delay accepting applications for the 2020 Parents and Grandparents program (PGP) as a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite current deferral to launch the 2020 application process, this will not impact when parents and grandparents may arrive in Canada with its continued commitment to family reunification.

In Canada, you may sponsor your own parents and grandparents if you are at least 18 years old; a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a registered Indian under the Indian Act; reside in Canada; and, meet financial support requirements. In your application, you can include your siblings, or half brothers and sisters, so long as they are under 22 and are unmarried. There are some restrictions for dependents who are over the age limit and you may contact us for these details.
